Sponsoring Program: Choke Canyon State Park
Purpose:
- To support TPWD''s mission by working with the maintenance team to manage the park''s natural resources and keep the park safe and usable for visitors.
Major Duties:
Represent TPWD State Parks in a positive manner and supplement the work of park staff.
Assist with customer service operations at Choke Canyon State Park, including:
- Performing customer service duties;
- Monitoring self-pay stations after hours, and
- Providing general information and assistance to park visitors.
Support park maintenance including but not limited to:
- minor construction/carpentry, trail maintenance, tree clearing, vegetation control
-other miscellaneous maintenance activities including equipment repair if skilled in that area
- Maintain safety standards of park. Do not use any equipment without proper training and sign-off of appropriate staff. Notify staff of any safety concerns.
- restroom cleaning, fish cleaning station maintenance, greeting visitors, directing visitors to self-pay station, and more.
Requirements:
Passion for Texas State Parks.
· Experience with maintenance, electrical work, carpentry, and/or manual labor.
· Essential opportunity functions require lifting, standing, walking, carrying, and bending for extended periods of time.
· Criminal background check clearance.

Time Commitment:
- A minimum three month stay, maximum 12 month stay
- 24 hours of work per week (schedule flexible depending on your needs)
